IT’S FRIDAY Hello everyone so I slightly let my

IT’S FRIDAY

Hello everyone so I slightly let my NO MEDIA at the weekend creep back in the last couple of weeks – ha ha!

However my campaign It’s Friday is back on. Partly because I am just starting to work at the weekend doing weddings again so will be a busy bee!

Thanks to everyone who is supporting and following and liking all my posts though.

As I have mentioned before I make a conscious decision to take a break from social media each weekend.
It was super scary to start with but finally I’ve relaxed and can actually enjoy a social media two day break with my family.
I’ve often still got scheduled posts appearing on Saturday and Sunday but I no longer check my account at the weekend.

There’s still a huge fear of missing out I know but since taking the plunge I have discovered I don’t actually lose any of my followers just because I’ve taken the weekend off. They are probably glad of the break from me too – ha ha

With this strange interim period between coming out of covid and a return to normality we all need to recharge our batteries as lets face it it has been an exhausting time!

As always I will be back and fully charged on Monday! And if you didn’t know this about me, Monday is my favourite day of the week!

Ill repost this each Friday and maybe it’s okay for us all to take a break – wouldn’t that be a crazy idea!

Lovely wedding venue even in the rain. Old English charm for sure ! There’s such beautiful lake here snd stunning huge trees. You know how I love a tree 😀

Following Boris’s announcement re weddings last night it means weddings can go ahead with unlimited numbers as long as covid19 measures are adhered to by your venue – this means it is up to your venue how many can attend in essence. There’s a few other caveats too but essentially there is a green light for larger weddings.

I am an established wedding photographer in Herts Beds & Bucks with over 20 years of experience with a natural relaxed style of informal/beautiful photography. I am also recommended by some of the top wedding venues in Herts Beds and Bucks too.

As well as a full day photography (and videography) I also offer Bijoux Wedding Photography Sessions for smaller more intimate weddings this might be from bridal prep | guests arriving | ceremony | formal portraits and relaxed informal portraits up to start of wedding breakfast and take up to approx four hours.

Hello there couples hoping to get married ! so after Boris's announcements re weddings yesterday there does remain some confusion however this is what I have been able to ascertain:

From 21st June weddings - unlimited guests.
Covid19 secure venue + social distancing measures in place. This will depend on the venue you have chosen so you will need to check with them directly.

Seated tables of 6/masks worn if standing indoors.
Receptions table service only.
First dance okay but no guest dancing indoors/outside only.
No singing/speeches advised outdoors only.

There may be something I have missed but this covers most of it. Hope that is of some reassurance.

Well once again the wedding industry and couples a

Well once again the wedding industry and couples are awaiting the latest new from Boris. How many times have we been here and spent the whole weekend wondering?

I for one have said Boris got married with 30 people and planned a big event for next year - there was a big clue in that.

However for the wedding industry to survive we need weddings to go above 30.

That said I think once couples know what can and can't be done they will get on with bookings and bookings will once again resume.

The past few weeks since the delta variant, everyone has been on tenterhooks.

We can't change the outcome but we sure as hell can do our best to give our couples the best possible wedding they can have.

30 is still a party - I know this because I've done PPE weddings and funnily enough the atmosphere is just wonderful.

We are back to feeling grateful for the small things in life and the fact we can even meet again.

Whatever happens let's keep supporting each other.

It’s Friday and my sweet peas are out ! I’m so excited about these. I planted them too late last summer and I left them outdoors. They even survived the snow in February snd here they are in all their glory. @themontydon did say sweet peas were much more hardy than we give him credit for !! ❤️

And picking the flowers only makes them grow back with more. The plant which keeps on giving 😁

I am a local Hertfordshire Family Portrait Photographer and just got this beautiful little review from a recent client I photographed for the second time as she was bought a Gift Voucher for Christmas and joy of joys was finally permitted to use it! Yay…even the rain didn’t stop us.

As you might imagine like many people photographers have been severely affected by covid19 and all the restrictions – like many people we have turned to alternate ways of supporting ourselves during the crisis. For my part I now teach English as a foreign language to little Japanese children in Hiroshima via zoom. Life certainly has taken unusual turns. However my main career is still photography but I have been unable and limited in what I have been able to do.

Am hoping for a more return to normal this year and thankfully I am now doubly vaccinated.

So it’s Monday morning – my favourite day of the week and over the next few months I will be mentioning a local Herts Beds Bucks wedding venue and all the positives about choosing it as your venue. It will also be a venue where I am a recommended supplier too so if you want to see examples of my work there you can just email me and I will send you a link.

And today it is all about @shendishmanor !
I’ve been shooting here for years – I lived here as a teenager in a new piggery style barn conversion so we used to walk around the grounds of Shendish before it even became a hotel so when I say I know it like the back of my hand it’s true.

It is stunning backdrop to any wedding whether you want something intimate and bijoux (check out my latest wedding Bijoux Sessions.) or you are hoping to hold a larger/Asian wedding in the newer part. Food here is delicious and Room One with the canopy bed is a perfect romantic setting for your overnight stay or two! Shendish has the feeling of old age glamour and sophistication with a hint of the past. You can imagine a Gatsby style wedding here but at the same time its sense of tradition in no way prevents you creating a more modern style wedding either. You also have the advantage of getting married indoors or outdoors and both locations are fab.

The staff here have always looked after me well and provided me with a great dinner – which is a huge accolade for any photographer – not sure I have mentioned being a wedding photographer is like being an athlete – you have to eat a lot to sustain the energy you burn off on the day and the high of all that adrenalin!

Anyway it’s a beauty of a location and totally timeless and charming hidden away and just off the M1 and M25 too – very handy for all those out of town guests.

Morning everyone and what a lovely morning it is too – I’ve just had my coffee in the swing chiar in the garden and it is utterly heavenly! Over the next few weeks I will be mentioning a specific wedding venue and the positives about choosing it as your venue. And today it is all about Sopwell House! So what makes @sopwellhouse so special?

Well I’ve been shooting here for years – way before it became such an incredible venue but even then the grounds were pretty much the same. There’s a beautiful secret walled garden – most people don’t realise it even exits. I love the way you can shoot with a backdrop of meadows too and there’s even an avenue of trees. Out the front of the building there’s a beautiful area of lawn and what looks like wild flowers. Now indoors the venue caters for huge weddings so if you want big you can definitely think of booking here – OR if you want a Bijoux Wedding I’ve also done beautiful PPE weddings here for up to 30 people and it works fantastically well. Think canapes in the sunshine on the patio with lavender and an ornamental Japanese bridge in the background with a scenic lawn stretching to a white pagoda. I’ve done outdoor ceremonies here too and they are gorgeous.

So if you were a bride | groom there would be no reason not to book this venue – and don’t forget the sumptuous new spa is now open and is absolutely cracking – for me this is a vogue style shoot right here!
